The Eternal Question

Author:

Theresa Dawn Sinclair

Series:

The House of Winds Series (Book One)

Epic Fantasy

Suitable  for young to old adults, this is aimed at those who enjoy involved unwinding plots, sometimes deep subjects and some conflicted romance along with their violence and adventure.

Book Description

When the Immortal parent, North, discovers his six cherub sons have wreaked havoc by creating a new world and peopling it with humans stolen from a variety of established worlds, he is so furious that he casts them out of The Upper Realm to live their lives out as mortals on Planet Earth.

What he had not reckoned on is that when the boys had taken people, they had done so with total disregard for the time co-ordinates. Thus, one of them ends up as a young man in the world he had created when a child.

The unravelling of the confusion in the new world called Thesos is made more difficult due to human beings’ propensity for inventing history where there is none. The resolution, however, has more to do with something one of the cherubs did during the stage of creation. For pity’s sake and in the complete innocence of his youth, he saved a life.

Excerpt from The Eternal Question

'Where have you two been all morning? I've been waiting for you'.
They fell apart as if her words drove a solid wedge between them, eyes round with shock, breath drawn in a mutual gasp, bodies rigid, suddenly clutched by a terror they could never have imagined the sound which that sweet, lilting voice would engender.

'You look as if you've seen a ghost,' she remarked, skipping lightly as she went to her room, soft white curls bobbing on perfect, straight shoulders.

Parents do not question such a moment as this, not when they have just said goodbye to their only child for the very last time and watched her disappear into the consuming void of Oblivion. No, not if they are wise they don't. They remind themselves that the gods are all-knowing and they are not. They silently repeat the mantra that it was not meant to be that she was stolen from them in the first place, that this was the proper course, that they are seeing what ought to be and therefore what is right. They get down on their knees and thank the gods for this second chance and then they hide the secret of her rebirth forever, never speaking of it whatever the provocation.

That is what the couple did because they were wise, because they could find no other explanation to satisfy themselves, because she had been returned and they could go on as before. They kept quiet about the miracle, they went on with their lives as though today had never happened, and they burned the grey clothes in the incinerator on the First Level.
