“This here’s the Black Dragon Inn,” a burly man in a
somewhat kempt tan shirt with rolled up sleeves says to you as you sit down at
the bar seeking answers about the establishment.
“Here’s a place that them fantasy fiction reader types like
to visit from time to time, take a load off, and talk with other similar chums
about the latest and greatest fantasy novels out on the market. We talk about
the greats too, but we’ve got plenty of up-and-coming authors we spotlight
here. They need all the help they can get starting out,” he says, half
chuckling, “but you know, their stuff ain’t half bad. In fact, some o’ them
have more spirit than the big-timers if ya be askn’ me; besides, it’s a hoot to
actually be able to connect with the authors. You don’t get that chance often
with the big shots, here ya get it daily” he says, pulling out a clean rag from
his back pocket, wiping the counter idly as he converses with you.
“We post weekly fantasy fiction spotlights and let readers
know about giveaways that the authors run. So not only are you keeping up with
what’s new, but ye be getting’ free books from time to time as well!”
A shrill whistle two tables behind you catches the bartender’s
attention.
“Well, I’d love to stay an chat, but if ye be excusen’ me, I’ve
got some table to tend to. Come back often though, never know what book we’ll
be taken’ a look at!” he says, whisking away, leaving you there to enter your email
address up in the top right-hand corner to follow The Black Dragon. ;)
